As president of an organization at Illinois State University called Fiercely Loving Yourself (FLY empowers women through the avenues of makeup, hair, skin, nails, fashion and internal beauty.) I came up with a black history month idea for the org. With the help of my executive board we put on an amazing show called "Fiercely Black." Before we get into how much of a success it was I want to mention something about myself and why I did this.
I stand for minorities and equality because I am one myself. I am a hispanic student on a PWI campus. My family is very diverse, we have whites, blacks, hispanics and so much more. I have and will always support minorities or anybody that is different than where I come from because cultures are unique and beautiful.
I came up with this idea to bring different black organizations and talented minorities on campus to sing, speak, dance, educate and strut the runway showing the decades of black fashion to celebrate black history month, their culture and black excellence. Check out the video below!
